Features

The Kite Map system has been designed to provide as much information as possible, using integrated Google maps.

Searching Kite Flying sites:

  • Locate nearby Sites with address, city or postal code.
  • Map Markers are clickable with extra site details:
    • Site name
    • Field size
    • Ground/turf
    • Prevailing wind direction
    • Obstructed wind direction
    • Unobstructed wind direction
    • Nearby facilities (toilet, etc)
    • Parking availability
    • Website link (if applicable)
    • Additional notes and details
    • Thumbnail Image
  • All results listed on left of the map with clickable Google directions link.

Submitting Kite Flying sites:

  • Users can submit Sites directly without needing to register or create an account.
  • Marker can be dragged to show exact location, regardless of closest street address.
  • User-submitted site details now include:
    • Site name
    • Field size
    • Ground/turf
    • Prevailing wind direction
    • Obstructed wind direction
    • Unobstructed wind direction
    • Nearby facilities (toilet, etc)
    • Parking availability
    • Website link (if applicable)
    • Additional notes and details

  • Sites are reviewed and approved by Administrators before they are listed in the database.
